Empties #11: Hair care edition!

Hi lovelies!

Guess what time it is?! Empties post time of course! I have been slack and haven’t posted one of these in awhile… my empties bag is getting super full so I need to get back into posting these monthly! Am I the only one who finds it super satisfying to finish up a product?!

Let’s take a look at what I’ve used up & am throwing out!

1. Redken Hair Cleansing Cream

This is the second one of these that I’ve used up! It was pretty good but I’m not sure if I’m completely sold on it. It definitely cleans my hair and scalp well, but I’m hunting for the best of the best! Do you have a favourite deep cleansing shampoo? I’m open to suggestions!

Would I re-purchase?: The jury is still out. At the moment I’ve moved on to the Matrix Pro Solutionist Alternative action clarifying shampoo and I’m not a big fan.

2. Moroccanoil Oil Treatment

This stuff is the best of the best. It is by far my favourite hair oil! I absolutely love the smell, it doesn’t weigh the hair down and it makes my hair feel super soft and healthy! ❤

Would I re-purchase?: Yes! At the moment I’m using the Macadamia Natural Oil version, and I don’t like it as much. I can’t wait to be reunited with my Moroccanoil :).

3. Joico K-Pak Reconstruct shampoo

This shampoo claims to gently cleanse hair while enhancing elasticity, strength and shine. Does it do all those things? To be honest I don’t think shampoos really can do much as you rinse them off straight after you apply them. But it definitely did a great job of cleansing my hair without stripping it!

Would I re-purchase?: Yes!

4. Batiste Dry Shampoo Blush

Batiste is the only dry shampoo I’ve tried and I love it. I don’t see a point in trying anything else when this works so well! When I apply it I usually spray it into my roots, work it into my scalp and then do my makeup to give it time to work it’s magic. Then I’ll come back to it and brush it out. It also has a pleasant scent and doesn’t leave a white cast!

Would I re-purchase?: I already have. Love this stuff!

5. Redken All Soft Heavy Cream

When they say all soft they aren’t lying. This baby restores moisture to your hair and makes it so silky soft!

Would I re-purchase?: Yes!

6. Redken Extreme Strength Builder Plus

This treatment is a protein based formula for strengthening damaged hair. If you get highlights you definitely need this! I alternated this with my other hair treatment which was more moisturising, and it worked amazingly.

Would I re-purchase?: Yes.

So there we have it! All my hair care empties from the moment! What do you guys like using in your hair?

There are so many good products that you mentioned! I love the Moroccan Oil line. It smells so good! And the Joico K-Pack!! I haven’t used that in a long time but I used to love it!! The Redken All Soft is a little too much for my hair, but it also used to be a product that was my go-to when I had long hair!

Thanks Christine! Yeah I’m using the all soft shampoo right now & I think it’s a bit too much for me.

My favorite clarifying shampoo is from Kenra – it’s the chelating dry shampoo and its amazing! I haven’t repurchased it in forever because I’m trying other brands, but I always find myself thinking of that one because nothing so far as topped it. Also, I love Macadamia Oil and not loving the Moroccan Oil I’m using – if only we could swap! LOL

Redken All Soft Heavy Cream looks like something that I would enjoy using! My hair gets so coarse after it’s been colored and normally, depending on which conditioner, it doesn’t always get soft enough. So this would be an ideal product! 🙂

I have to admit, I was a total Redken snob in my early 20’s! I LOVE the All Soft line and the Extreme Anti-Snap serum was my all time favorite! Hmmm, I think you’ve sparked a flame here Kate LOL!

The All Soft Heavy Cream sounds sooooo intriguing! I haven’t tried Moroccan Oil, but I use Darshana Indian Oil and I love it. Makes my hair so soft 🙂
