Hey lovelies!

Long time no talk… I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA again this week! I’ve had so much uni work due. I had an assignment due on Monday, and exams on Tuesday & Wednesday so I didn’t have any spare time to blog! But I’m back now! And I have lots of posts planned for you guys πŸ™‚

Today I will be telling you how to shop from the USA! This post has been highly requested by my Australian beauties, and people from all over the world! (not the USA obviously… :P).

First things first, not all American websites will accept foreign credit cards, or ship to package forwarding addresses, so here is a list of the sites I love to shop on!

  • Beauty.com: sells all the ‘big brands’ including Urban Decay, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Beauty Blender, Glam Glow, NARS, Stila, Smashbox, Tarte and more. Beauty.com also frequently run 20% off site wide sales & offer sample filled beauty bags worth $100 or more often. Everyone loves free goodies!
  • Drugstore.com: sell drugstore products including Covergirl, Revlon, Maybelline, L’Oreal, Rimmel… etc. Drugstore.com & Beauty.com are also run by the same company so you can combine both into 1 cart & get everything shipped together! Drugstore.com & Beauty.com both have free shipping within the US over $35 and you earn 5% cash back to spend later πŸ˜‰
  • Nordstrom.com: For your high end beauty needs. Nordstrom sells MAC, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, LORAC, Marc Jacobs, Lancome, Clinique and many other brands. They also offer free shipping on any amount within the US, and offer 3 free samples as well!

Alternatively, you can shop from the brands own websites, for example maccosmetics.com for those limited edition releases!

Then there’s also beauty supply stores including:

These stores carry a wide variety of brands commonly used by pro makeup artists including Ben Nye, Cinema Secrets, Kryolan, Mehron, Model in a Bottle, Stila, Makeup Forever, Sugarpill, Beauty Blender (including Pro Packs with 6 sponges & a cleanser for a reduced price!) and many more brands. These sites cater to the public and also to pro makeup artists which can get a nice discount πŸ˜‰

Of course there are a lot of other websites you can use including Sephora & Ulta, but Sephora won’t ship to package forwarding companies unless you use a service where the shipping company buys it for you, which costs you more.

Now onto how to get your American goodies to you, wherever in the world you might be!

I use Shipito as my package forwarding company. In the past I have used MyUS, however in comparison MyUS is a bit more expensive, which is why I switched.

Shipito is a package forwarding company based in the USA. You get packages sent to them, and they will either re-ship it straight away, or hold your packages until you decide to ship them & you can get multiple packages consolidated into 1 big box to save on shipping.

They also offer an assisted purchase service, where you give them a list of the items you want & where to buy them & they buy them for you. This service is useful if the website you want to purchase from won’t accept a foreign credit card. Personally I’ve only used this service once to get my NuMe curling wand set, but I would definitely use it again. Generally though, I just purchase my items myself and get it shipped to them as it’s cheaper πŸ˜‰

The great thing about Shipito is that they don’t just have one warehouse, they have multiple warehouses in different states, including one in Oregon which is sales tax free!

Here’s a quick run down of how to use Shipito:

There are 2 services you can sign up for, Individual Packages or Virtual Mailbox. With Individual Packages there is no ongoing fee, however you cannot consolidate multiple packages into one box to save on shipping. Personally I use the Virtual Mailbox, which is $50 a year, because consolidation ends up saving you a lot of money!

After you’ve signed up, you simply click ‘Your Shipito and Home Address’, which has all your different address options. I use the Oregon address as you don’t have to pay sales tax, and it offers consolidation. Then you just shop on any US website and put your shipito address in when checking out. Once your package arrives at the warehouse it will appear in ‘Packages in Warehouse’, and you can choose to either send it straight away or wait until you have a few packages to send and get them all consolidated and sent in the same box. Before you send your packages you will need to fill in the customs declaration, which is quick & easy to do, you simply fill out the product name & cost and that’s pretty much it! Then select your shipping method, I prefer DHL as they are one of the cheapest and quickest.

And that’s all there is to it!

Do you shop the USA or will you give it a go after reading this post?

Loved this post Kate!!! I have used My.US a couple of times but just for one-off purchases. They just recently lowered their shipping rates by 20% so I’d say they are on par with Shipitto now. I should probably use these services more but I am always scared the shipping will be too crazy. I think consolidating boxes is a great option though πŸ™‚

Oh did they? That’s awesome! Maybe I’ll switch back then πŸ˜‰ although I do like it that I don’t have to pay sales tax when shipping to Oregon with shipito πŸ™‚ thanks lovely I’m glad you liked reading.
